Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Bob moved to Utah with his family in 1979. Before joining KEPCO+, Bob worked for Vulcraft, a joist and girder manufacturer, where he learned many of the production and supervision skills from which KEPCO+ currently benefits. He was introduced to the stone specialty side of construction in 1996 upon joining KEPCO+ as the Material Handling foreman where he coordinated the flow of stone and other raw materials throughout the facility. Within two years, he was promoted to Production Coordinator and then to his current role of Plant Manager / Preconstruction Coordinator in 2000.
As Plant Manager / Preconstruction Coordinator, Bob is involved early in the design process to evaluate proposed panelization options and assist in determining the most efficient and effective fabrication method for the project. Bob then oversees all operating divisions of the plant, including steel fabrication, material handling, stone installation, quality control, shipping, and tools and equipment management, ensuring that the finished product meets the specifications determined during the design phase. Bob enjoys the day to day challenge of his position as well as the opportunity to be a part of a project from start to finish. "KEPCO+ offers its employees a unique, family-like environment. A person is allowed to grow in the direction he or she chooses and is encouraged to do so. All employees, despite their position, are provided with the opportunity to share their ideas and all are treated equally," says Bob. Despite the long hours spent slaving away at KEPCO+, Bob still finds time to "cruise" around the Caribbean and sharpen his scuba diving skills at least once a year! Of course when the ship docks, it also gives him an opportunity to practice his golf game. |
