Steven received a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1978. He is a licensed engineer registered in California and Utah as a Structural Engineer, and in Colorado as a Professional Engineer. Steven accepted the position of Director of Engineering at KEPCO+ in August of 2003; however, KEPCO+ has benefited from Steven's knowledge, skill, and experience since 1988 when he first began providing design services for KEPCO+ projects.
While working with KEPCO+, Steven has developed a specialization in structural design related to the building and performance of exterior enclosures, and his capabilities have helped build KEPCO+'s reputation as a superior architectural cladding subcontractor. Steven has played a vital role in many prestigious projects including the Nauvoo Temple, the Grand America Hotel, the Utah State Capitol Restoration, and the historic 90 West Street Renovation in New York City – all with KEPCO+. He has also worked on the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall and Ray and Maria Stat Center at MIT. Although Steven has concentrated experience in cladding design, he also has over 30 years experience in all aspects of structural engineering, including exterior enclosures, sports facilities, amusement rides, office buildings, institutional buildings, medical facilities, and housing projects. Steven has provided consulting services for exterior enclosure systems to owners and architects and has acted as a design consultant for glazing and stone contractors. He also has experience in seismic evaluation and renovations, security assessments, and nonstructural seismic bracing. Steven is versed in all common building materials including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, fiberglass, aluminum, natural stone, prefabricated exterior enclosure systems, and glass. |
