Letters of Recommendation
| 3D/I - Utah State Capitol Expansion 11/03/2003Dear Bruce
It is with great pleasure that I commend KEPCO+ for your work on the Utah State Capitol Expansion Buildings. These buildings were designed adhering to strict classical proportions and details to complement the Capitol Building. The close proximity of the extension buildings to the Capitol required that the stone match the historic building in mass, style, color, and detail. KEPCO+ understood these requirements and became key collaborating partners in the realization of this vision.
Essential elements of classical architecture such as entasis for columns and pilasters, massive base course stones and entablature elements were made possible only through your creative solutions for managing schedule and cost on the entire stone contract. Without your capable collaboration, the quality and level of detail achieved on these buildings would not have been possible within the given schedule and budget.
The methods your team developed for fabrication and assembly of stone in your shop facilitated close tolerances and high quality in the final placement of stone on the building. These methods also accelerated the overall building schedule allowing you to complete major portions of the stone assembly off site before the building structure was complete enough for your on site setting of stone.
Thanks again for your great work on this important project. I look forward to working with you again soon.
Sincerely,
Paul D. Brown, AIA
Senior Vice President
